Rob Moye

My name is Rob Moye, and I am a sole proprietor Golf Director at Golf Package Central. (To find out what I define as a Golf Director please see below***)

I was born and raised in Greenville, NC, (yes ECU Pirate country) about 3 hours north of the Myrtle Beach golfing area. I moved to Wilmington NC in 1997, and have been in the area pretty much ever since. After graduating college I worked in the accounting field for about 8 years before stumbling into the golf package industry in late 2000.

Most of my experience in the industry came at Coastal Golfaway, where I worked as a Golf Director for 12 years. As such I have had the privilege of playing almost every Grand Strand area golf course, many more than once. I am not a golfer of great skill level (perhaps one has to play more or start golfing before college) but I can appreciate what makes one golf course unique from another, as well as course quality and such. That combined with my analytical mind set from the business world has helped me to serve well over 100,000 visiting golfers over the past almost two decades.

*** What the heck is a Golf Director/Director of Golf? Hopefully more than a made up term to give folks like me a title to go on a business card. For most of the Myrtle Beach area there is a golf director at each area resort, primarily serving golfers with the motive to fill rooms at that particular resort. That makes perfect sense as the area’s golf seasons (Spring/Fall) shoulder the busy Summer season (June-August) when the beach in itself keeps resort operators somewhat happy. Some of those resorts are also affiliated (as in co-owned or managed) by area golf courses, so there might be extra incentive for them to send golfers a particular direction as a first option, and that makes sense too.

My goal is to try and get you the most golfing bang for your buck, with or without accommodations, with the goal that you will have a great experience, and hopefully be satisfied to the point of coming back or referring a friend.
